Installing the fence

Layout and planning

For easier installation, we recommend at least two people to install fence

Locate all your End and Corner points and run a string line between this points

Mark location of gates on fence lines

Posts          1. – Digging post holes (minimum deep recommended)

A.   – A 4’ fence post requires an 18” deep hole, 6” wide

B.   – A 5’ fence requires a 24” deep hole, 6” wide

C.   – A 6’ fence requires a 30” deep hole, 8” wide

D.   – A 7’ fence requires a 30” deep hole, 8” wide

E.    – A 8’ fence requires a 36” deep hole, 8” wide

Start installing your fence with and End post

Dig posts holes as recommended above set End post and fills hole with concrete up to 2” under surface level. After the first End posts is set, (from the center of the post measure

5’ 11 ½” for the center of the next hole for your first line post). Dig up to 8 holes for the line posts along the fence line (using the measure described before). If you reach an end or corner of the fence line, then dig the posthole where it is needed.

Install first line post attach the panel to the posts, fill hole with concrete up to 2” under surface level the first panel is installed.

To assemble the fence, slide the horizontal rails of a section into the punched holes of the first post that was set as far as the notched hole will allow. Place a line post into the next posthole, and slide the line post onto the horizontal rails as far as possible.

Keep working the same way - post – concrete – panel – post until you reach a corner or gate posts (we recommend that you check level and alignment after every 2 –3 sections a are installed)

Gates          Be sure that the gate is centered properly over the walkway/driveway.

The width of the gate would correspond to space needed between posts.

The space between the posts need to be 2 ½” more than gate frame on

Walk Gates and 3” on Double Gates

A 48” wide gate fits a 48 1/2” wide opening or space between posts

Or two 5’ gates for a driveway fit a 9’11” wide opening.

Hang each gate after concrete has hardened, be sure that posts are level

Is important not to mount the hinges on the gate post higher than the top horizontal rail of the fence or lower than the bottom horizontal rail of the gate, the hinge pins must be in line with each other or the gate will not operate properly

Latch follow the instructions on package each type of latch require different instructions.

Fence                    For areas where pre-fabricated 6’ sections will not fit it will be required to cut the section with a hacksaw, because you will be cutting pre-cut notches off ends of the stringer, it will be necessary to cut a 1/8” x 5/8” notch so you can fasten the section to the post.

Slope                    Aluminum fences can follow the contour of the ground condition because of its ability

to rake (up to 8” per 6’ section); you may rise or lower the post in steep conditions.

Complete your installation after all sections are firmly in place and the concrete has hardened, fasten the rails to the posts using the # 8x 1" self-drilling screws.

At this point you use a rubber hammer to drive posts caps onto the post

Exercise caution so as not to damage post, or finish

Align the fence by sighting along the top of the horizontal rails. When correctly aligned, the rails will appear to be one continuous line. Also the posts will appear to be one when viewed from the end of the fence line

Replace dirt and grass around all posts and clean the posts for a neater appearance

Your fence installation is now complete!
